Student Board Members

Being a Boston resident his whole life, Ben was excited to partner with Youth Villages New England to found the BISC Initiative back in June of 2025. A love of education is core to who Ben is, and he is more than thrilled to be able to embody that through his work at the BISC Initiative. Ben brings extensive leadership experience to the BISC Initiative Student Board, having worked with his school's administration in multiple capacities and gathered almost two years of experience in youth art and theatre education. Outside of his work at the BISC Initiative, Ben enjoys musical theatre, playing tennis, and making art.

Born in Ithaca, NY but raised in Medford, MA, Quinn is someone who is very passionate about working with kids. As one of the founding members of the board, he cares deeply about how the BISC Initiative is able to improve the lives of the children of the Boston area. He utilizes his knowledge of children, management, and finance to enable the BISC Initiative to impact as many lives as possible. Outside of his work with the BISC Initiative, he works as the Stage Manager for his school's theater company, and is interested in writing and film.

Born in Boston and raised in Wellesley, MA, Reese is excited to launch the BISC Initiative's newsletter to help broaden community awareness of the organization's mission to equip youth with the tools they need to succeed. Reese is thrilled that the newsletter will give her the opportunity to merge her interest in writing with her passion for working with children. Reese currently leads her high school's Peer Writing Tutor Program and volunteers as an elementary school tutor in her free time. Outside of her role at the BISC Initiative, she enjoys playing pickleball, reading, and hiking.

Born in Canada and raised in China and Waltham, MA, Sarah moved to Princeton, NJ during middle school. She has a strong interest in business, the arts, music, and media, and enjoys combining her creative and organizational skills in her daily life, including running a selling account centered around her interest in K-pop. Outside of her role at the BISC Initiative, she is also interested in exploring social issues and cultural perspectives, particularly topics surrounding equality, feminism, and cultural appreciation and appropriation.

Charlotte is from Beijing, China. She is passionate about helping second-language learners overcome language barriers and feel more connected to their communities. She has a strong interest in finance, quantitative fields, and computer science. Outside of academics, Charlotte enjoys photography, swimming, singing, and drawing.

Born and raised in Newton, MA, Avalon is a Boston-area-based photographer, equestrian, and creative who serves on the Student Board of the BISC Initiative. She is passionate about giving back to the Boston community and enjoys helping the BISC Initiative grow its fundraising efforts and reach more youth in need. Through her background in the creative fields, Avalon hopes to bring new and innovative ideas to the Student Board. Outside of her professional photography work and board involvement, Avalon has her longtime equine partner 'Catch' and enjoys web design.
