The Boston Independent Schools and Camps Initiative is a student-led nonprofit network connecting independent schools and camps across New England and beyond around a shared mission: supporting the youth served by Youth Villages.
Each partner school establishes a student-run branch, supported by faculty advisors, that runs at least three fundraising campaigns per year – all benefiting Youth Villages.
Each partner school runs its own branch, led by a student Leadership Committee with a faculty advisor. Branches commit to at least three campaigns per year.
Students recruit students. Our model is built on the belief that young people are the most powerful advocates for their peers in the community.
Every dollar raised goes directly to Youth Villages' Backpack Heroes and Holiday Heroes campaigns – school supplies and holiday gifts for youth in need.
"Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world."
The BISC Initiative is governed by a student board drawn from our partner schools.
